/Graphic Elements

The registered trademarks and official colors and fonts of the university comprise the graphic elements used to support the ASU brand. Each element strengthens the ability of the university to communicate its mission and message, as well as provides a visual relationship between our audiences and everything ASU.

General Guidelines

  1. An ASU logo must be on everything that we produce.
  2. Everything we produce must look like it is from ASU.
  3. One--and only one--logo representing the university or one of its units should be used on a publication.

Those are the basics. The nuts and bolts aren't much more complicated.

  • The ASU logo, or an endorsed brand logo, are the only graphic identity mark for all university campuses, units, and endeavors. When multiple university units are represented in a publication, the logo of the umbrella organization that represents them all should be used; references to the units themselves should occur in text format only.
  • The logo or signature must appear in a prominent position on all electronic and print communication. An endorsed brand (a unique logo for a specific unit) is granted only under particular circumstances.
  • The logo, word mark and signature must have appropriate space around it.
  • The logo should not be printed smaller than 5/16".
  • When an ASU logo is used with the logo of another institution or company (for example, in a partnership announcement), the university logo should appear to be the same size as that of the other logos and be placed on the publication in an equally prominent position.
  • Maroon and gold must be included as an integral component of everything we produce.
  • In addition to maroon and gold, use the approved university color palette.
  • Use the downloads - don't recreate or alter any marks.
  • Use only authorized ASU stationery and business cards printed at ASU Graphic Information Solutions.
