Web Editorial Board (WEB)
The ASU Web Editorial Board (WEB) is the driving force behind a sustainable, active ASU web that delivers the New American University experience. The group serves as a governing body that coordinates the core ASU web and assists in the development of the outlying ASU sites by chartering teams to enact and advise on the creation of new parts of the web, development of existing parts and improvements to the web infrastructure of the university. WEB leverages the University Technology Office's resources and combines them with unit resources to complete projects. The chartered teams will be comprised of members throughout the university and will disband when their objectives are fulfilled.
The key areas of responsibility for the group include:
* Review proposals for enterprise-level web projects
* Prioritize enterprise-level web projects
* Receive status reports on enterprise-level web projects
* Advise on design, messaging, and technical specifications for enterprise-level web projects
* Establish guidelines for web processes and procedures
* Recommend ways to present new enterprise-level web services to ASU community (to promote positive use experience and acceptance) For more information visit: http://wiki.asu.edu/web/
ASU Web Community
The new UTO-sponsored ASU Web Community for web designers, developers and programmers includes people from all four campuses and from all disciplines. The informal group is open to anyone and has no signup process or membership dues. The idea behind the Web Community, is to establish an "authoritative" place where web designers, developers and programmers can go to get accurate information about the Internet and the ASU web. But the Web Community is much more than an information dissemination group, it's a collaborative community that works together to develop and create university projects.
The Web Community is:
* A social networking site that enhances communications and unifies the university web development efforts.
* A supportive resource for members to ask questions about and discuss web development and code.
* A friendly venue for sharing code, designs, tips and other resources.
* A shared code repository where anyone in the community can look at code, post code, and collaborate on projects.
* A forum for community members to collaboratively establish best practices for design and code.
